The year was 1954, the town San Francisco. Two insightful musicians,
Leonard Jared and Stephen Binion, decided that success was not only in
the sale of pianos, but in on-going relationships with those who were
serious about their art, their instruments and with whom they shared an
intense commitment to the place of the piano in our culture. In this
tradition, we prepare each piano to find a life of its own, fulfilling
its highest potential with the new owner.
Among other fine new pianos we have two favorites: Mason & Hamlin, Boston, and Grotrian, Braunschweig, Germany. Both are hand-built in very limited numbers for discerning pianists around the world.
Fine pianos have a certain agelessness about them. In good hands they survive for generations. Our restoration workshop in San Rafael recaptures the original elegance of these classic gems. Each one must have long-term investment value, well-established historic status and distinctive sound quality.
